How to Begin Your Fitness Program

You decided to “begin” to get yourself into shape and lose some of that weight you have gained. You join a gym, or health club you heard about to get this task done. If you’re lucky the establishment you joined has some programs that will initially help you move in the right direction.

“But, I have 3 children, but I work from dawn to dusk, but I love peanut butter and jelly sandwiches, but I just hate getting up early in the morning, but I can’t eat breakfast, but I hate to cook, but, but, but“……and so it goes. Defeated before you even begin to get it!!! You won’t see something “happen” until you “get your butt, and I do mean rear end out of the way” and out of the house.!!!

Remember the Superman II Movie…… Superman is hard at work stopping the water from the dam pouring into the village….. He flies to save Jimmy Olsen who is hanging from the dam, but Lois Lane is the one really in trouble here. She is caught in the earthquake fissures. Her car is gobbled up and the dirt pours in. She is doomed…..Not until Superman finished the rest of his hero work does he realize what has happened. By the time he reaches Lois……well you know….. What a remarkable idea…. He flies as fast as he can in the opposite direction of the earths rotational spin…… the earth begins to slow its pace. He keeps flying as fast as he can trying to get it to slow down….. It begins to slow down….. Finally the earth stops its spin and begins to move in the opposite direction allowing time to move backwards as well ….. Bringing Lois back to the surface and life…..

“That’s It!!!! That’s what your body will do as well!!!

a) You begin to follow the “Fitness Formula”….. “Why is this so hard”?? And I have to journal as well….. “ugh”…
b) You lose 1 to 2 lbs. In a week…..WOW….but how come it wasn’t more???
c) You feel a little less tightness in your clothing…. You feel like you have more energy.
d) You are beginning to sleep better. That’s good!
e) You seem to be able to walk farther on the treadmill and going around the block just got faster
f) You loose another pound. My journal shows I could have been a little better this week with my water intake. I used to “hate” drinking water, but now I am beginning to feel thirstier. I am remembering to take a bottle of water with me wherever I go.
g) I am beginning to get more organized with my shopping list. This is not so bad after all.
h) This past “5” weeks I have lost “8” pounds…. Great !! Whew…. This is wonderful.
I) My waist has gone down 2”….I cannot believe it…. I am breaking out the wonderful skirts I used to wear….
J) Suddenly…. Journaling is not such a task after all. I am beginning to see that I eat well most of the time and can still give myself a little treat now and then.
k) I have finally learned not to beat myself up when I have a “cheating moment”….I can now get myself back on track.
l) My friends are telling me that I look great. What have I been doing? Yeah…I actually look younger.

And so it goes. It is the same for you as it is for me, as it is for any human on the planet. Slowly you bring your body from spinning out of control, to a stop, to a movement in the direction of good eating, good exercise, good lifestyle choices to a wonderful overall healthy feeling.

The “Fitness Formula” is no magic pill, it is a simple bit of information that just might help you get where you want to go. The truth is “You Are The Magic”!!! It will be however, a healthy way to go. Ease on down the road…. Gently but with determination.
You don’t have to be Superman, but you can turn back the clock with some forward and steady changes using the information contained herein.
